The last week has been pretty interesting in the Page Lake Powell area. Monday night one storm moved through missing Page, AZ but directly hitting Big Water, UT. The Fox 13 news team out of Salt Lake featured Big Water and Monument Valley on the weather report Tuesday evening with photos of the snow. Wednesday had a another storm moving through the area, this time Page got the brunt of it.

Here are a few photos looking out of my driveway (Click to make larger)

All schools in the Page Unified School District were closed at noon on Wednesday and all day Thursday. That is the first time in 11 years there has been a whole day closure of Page schools due to snow. Big Water received another 2 inches in this second storm making for a total of 8.5 inches on the ground. While this may not sound like much, keep in mind Page has two old tractors that double as snow plows and Big Water has none.

All in all it has been a quiet, peaceful week moving into the holidays.
