GARKANE ENERGY ANNOUNCES PRE-ARRANGED OUTAGE

FROM GLEN CANYON DAM

– Midnight Saturday, September 13, 2008 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. Sunday Morning-

Officials of the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) will take a pre-arranged outage at Midnight on Saturday, September 13th from 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m Sunday Morning (Utah Time).

The outage is necessary to replace damaged equipment in the Glen Canyon Switchyard at the Glen Canyon Dam. A similar problem occurred May of 2006. Unfortunately, this work can only be performed while the power is off.

This outage will affect all of Garkane Energy’s customers in Kane County, Garfield County (except Panguitch and Antimony), and all of the Northern Arizona customers in Mohave and Coconino Counties served by Garkane.

Please make any personal arrangements necessary in preparation for this outage.

The Sheriff Departments and hospitals should be especially aware. Garkane expresses its apologies for the outage, but it is beyond our control, and the work is necessary at the Glen Canyon Switchyard to prevent unscheduled interruptions in the future.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.
