PAGE, AZ – This Saturday, September 26, please join the Glen Canyon Lecture Series, hosted by Glen Canyon Natural History Association, Powell Museum, and the Page Public Library, and Glen Canyon National Recreation Area at Page Memorial Park for a special highlight preview screening of the new Ken Burns film The National Parks: America’s Best Idea.
The National Parks: America’s Best Idea is the work of Ken Burns, a renowned documentary filmmaker, and his filmmaking partner Dayton Duncan. The documentary, which required nearly 10 years to complete, chronicles the story of the national parks from their mid-19th century origin to the present day. The series will begin airing Sunday, September 27, on PBS.
The advanced screening for the new Ken Burns film is open to the public. The event will begin Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. in Page City Park on the grass by the Page Youth Center.
