Wow, it is hard to believe it has been a year since Disney-Pixar took over our small town of Big Water, UT, by Lake Powell to film much of the new movie John Carter of Mars. Based on the novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, best known as the creator of Tarzan, the movie takes place on Barsoom which was created behind Big Water in an area we call “the moon”
The first trailer for John Carter of Mars has just been released and the movie is due 3.9.12

While we could see much of the set from our porch, and from local road ways, we chose not to post photos. Our area hosts many movies and we really enjoy the experience, the revenue and the fun that comes along with it. I, however, did not enjoy being stuck in probably the first, and only, traffic jam Big Water has ever seen!
